2010 Handles Announced!

After much anticipation, Oink and I would like to formally announce the Team CycLee RAGBRAI 2010 Handles. Teammembers, if you like your handle, please send compliments to Oink and Moo. Complaints can be directed to Doug.

It has also come to our attention that Jeff, Kiran and Arun have created a sub-team of Team CycLee called Team Brownstrong. Moo and Oink are hoping to be included in this team toward the end of the week after a few days in the sun provides them with a nice brown tan.

Now, onto the handles. Drum roll please...

Dad/Lowell - Geezer. We're keeping it because it gives us an opportunity to call him Geezer not only during RAGBRAI but really all year long.

Mom/Judy - Queen Judy. Because she deserves to be royally honored for her weeklong support and patience. No joking around here!

Ken - Dillo, short for Armadillo. 'Cuz he's from Texas, he once was involved in gifting a "Christmas Armadillo" to our parents, and he'll need a strong shell to handle sleeping in a school bus all week.

Karla - Moo. Well duh. Her name has to match her horn and we can't go out and just find a different bike horn. Plus she likes hamburgers, as evidenced by her recent attendance at Burgerfest.

Kristin - Oink. Same logic as Moo. And she likes bacon. Even bacon-flavored chocolate.

Kim - Slev. Because we tried Skev for Ableskevers last year and it morphed into Slev because it sounds cool and matches his last name. And he's cool because he is on the radio with live reports providing Live-On-The-Scene reports from RAGBRAI and Team CycLee.

Kiran - UPS. After all "What can Brown do for you?"

Jeff - OM, short for Oscar Mayer. He wanted an upgrade from Weenie...and didn't like Queen Judy's suggestion of Sausage. My bologna has a first name...it's "J-E-FF-REYYYYY"

Thatch - PUMMEL. So that he properly represents the training program he personally designed.

Jamie - Firecracker. The rationale started based on the fact that she does crazy things like sleep outside on her cot for no reason other than to try it out, tends to be well caffeinated and appears to prefer breakfasts that includes beans. You could also potentially include the fact that she's still classified as a Newlywed after 4 years...

Doug - Uncommitted. His wife has referenced a few times her inability to get Doug to commit to anything...for goodness' sake, he can't even commit to who he'll cheer for when the Hawkeyes play the Cornhuskers! And, yes, we also find humor in the irony of his name and the newfound Newlywed classification.

Arun - TBD. No, really, his handle will actually be "TBD"...if he rides. (Side note - yes, we tease, but honestly hope that we can figure out logistics so that he joins us. It'd be awesome to have another CycLee member!)

Ride on,
Oink and Moo
